We will visit the Kintrishi National Park, which is located 60 km from Batumi in the gorge of the Kintrishi River. The park spreads over an area of about 14 hectares, 10 hectares of which has the status of a reserve and about 4 hectares – a national park. The nature here is unique – relict forests, endemic plants that grow only here. The fauna is also very diverse, many animals that live here are listed in the Red Book of Georgia. Mountain waterfalls and lakes, mixed forests, mostly beech and chestnut, side by side with conifers, you can also find bamboo groves.
Let’s walk along the arched bridge of the times of Queen Tamar of the XII century. There are two arched bridges in the Kintrishi Reserve – the Kobalauri and Chkemovani bridges.
We will visit the monastery of Tskhemvan, built in 2000.
We will see the ruins of an ancient temple of the 9th century in the village of Khino – the temple of Khinotsminda. The temple was damaged during the Ottoman invasion in the 18th century. It suffered during the earthquake and was finally destroyed by the locals, who stole the stones of the temple to build their houses.
At the end of our tour, a picnic in nature – we fry shish kebab and cook khachapuri.
