Excursions in Svaneti

The region of Svaneti is located in the north-west of Georgia. Upper Svaneti is hidden between two mountain ranges – the Caucasus and Svan. This isolation until recently from the rest of the world made it possible to preserve the authenticity of this region. Svan language, unlike Georgian, beliefs that combine both Christian and pre-Christian rituals. Ancient tower houses (IX – XII centuries), churches, are decorated with unique paintings. Also, the nature of this region, unsurpassed in its beauty, makes up the uniqueness of these places.
